Introducing PerflectionTM by Impacts Solar
Low-cost capture of the solar energy around us
TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW
Impacts Solar’s patented PerflectionTM Solar Thermal Collector captures and concentrates solar energy to provide medium temperature process heat, to power a wide range of agricultural, industrial and municipal processes including irrigation, water supply and desalination. PerflectionTM is particularly suited to where it is needed most, in regional and remote locations where traditional energy sources are costly and difficult to deliver.
PerflectionTM provides medium-temperature process heat from 60-350ºC to replace or augment diesel, gas or electric fired stationary boilers. There are widespread applications in agriculture, industrial, manufacturing and mining operations such as food processing, abbattoirs, beef feedlots, bottling plants, hardboard manufacture, supplementary steam for coal-fired power plants, dry cleaning operations and chilling, cooling and ice-production.
PerflectionTM combined with other technology can deliver a range of water and energy solutions including:
- PerflectionTM + Low-Speed Turbine + Pump = Sun-TapTM Solar Water Pumping
- PerflectionTM + Multi-Effect Distillation = Solar Desalination
PerflectionTM can be optionally configured to work in conjunction with Organic Rankine Cycle and single stage steam turbines to generate electricity. Solar thermal power differs from photovoltaics in that the heat of the sun is used to boil water and create steam that drives the turbine. In large-scale implementations, solar thermal electricity generation offers higher efficiencies than photovoltaic fields.
